Exhaust silencer
In the field of silencers for combustion engines, Merford offers the standard types RS-a and RS-ra. The RS-a silencer works on the principle of absorption, while the RS-ra silencer also makes use of the resonance principle. The gases flow into an expansion chamber and are then led through the absorption section via a venturi. In relation to the RS-a silencer, the RS-ra silencer delivers more acoustic damping in the lower frequency range.
Type RS-a silencers come in three models, which differ in terms of their damping value: 15, 25 and 35 dB. These ratings are derived from the damping value in the 250 Hz octave band.
The RS-ra silencers are available in two models, with a damping value of 35 and 45 dB.
