Pneumatic silencer
Pneumatic silencers are employed to reduce the noise generated by the release of air from pneumatic installations.
Normally, silencers made from sintered metal are applied for this purpose. But due to fouling, these cause all kinds of problems, such as unnecessary production stops, accidents, decreased performance or problems from pressure loss. Merford pneumatic silencers, by contrast, are built according to a patented design with an extremely low pressure loss. Cylinders, valves and pressure vessel vents can be connected to our silencers, without problems from encrustation or fouling.
The silencers are tested according to the NF E49-340 standard.
Sound pressure level at 1 metre from the vent (without silencer): 94.5 dB(A).
Sound pressure level at 1 metre from the vent (with silencer): 66.8 dB(A).
