Steam blow-off silencer
When steam or gas is blown-off, high sound pressure levels occur in the control or safety valve. This level can be reduced to the legally permitted value by installing a blow-off silencer. The gases are led through an expansion chamber, where the pressure drops to atmospheric level and the frequency spectrum changes. The sound pressure level is then further reduced in an absorption section. Merford supplies blow-off silencers under certification from Stoomwezen, ASME, ISO or TÜV.
